Let iTunes Rock Your Desktop

Ondak is a Cocoa-based iTunes visualization plug-in that draws a translucent waveform above all windows. The software is released under the Apple Public Source License and is free for anyone to modify and distribute. The project was restarted in January 2005 from the original version written in 2002 by Ben Chess and John Pratt.

Development

Current development efforts aim to 1) fix user interface problems and 2) add the ability to save preferences. Contact John Pratt if you would like to help out.

Download

Ondak is a functional iTunes plugin. However, beware that it is very much under development and certain features, such as rotate and resize, are disabled or broken. Also, due to iTunes' design, there is a specific way you turn the plug-in off, described in bold below. A workaround will be provided in the next release of Ondak.

Instructions:

1) Drop the compiled plugin in /Users/yourusername/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/ 2) Restart iTunes.

To turn plug-in off: while in iTunes, first go to Window menu and select iTunes, then press Command-T.
